CAIR-MN is offering an exciting internship for Events Program Coordinator. This position will help project manage the different events that CAIR-MN hosts. The ideal candidate will work with the Executive Director as well as other marketing team members.

Duties:

  • Coordinate scheduling of events and manage calendar for CAIR-MN team
  • Work with different clients in reserving and planning events to host; organize logistics
  • Prepare the necessary promotional materials for events
  • Help market events in coordination with marketing team
  • Interact with clients at events
  • Assist senior level executives in day-to-day administrative duties
  • Participate in marketing events and promotions
  • Participate in team marketing meetings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Internship Description

Our Civil Rights Department handles cases that range from prejudiced comments to hate and bias crimes. Our clients are Muslims as well as non-Muslims who have had Islam imputed upon them. Intern will work closely with the Assistant Civil Rights Director on resolving cases of discrimination reported to CAIR-Minnesota. Intern will also assist in day-to-day management of non-profit organization.

Duties:

  • Assist in documenting incidents of religious discrimination by counseling and interviewing complainants regarding the incidents.
  • Update databases containing information about cases reported to CAIR-Minnesota.
  • Organize “Know Your Rights” trainings for mosques and local area community centers.
  • Assist in establishing meetings with community leaders, elected officials and other key influencers.
  • Assist in planning and preparation of CAIR-MN events.
  • Provide assistance with a variety of daily and periodical tasks including maintaining appropriate files and databases
  • Available 15-20 hours a week to be in CAIR-MN office

CAIR-MN is looking for an intern to update, design and maintain its website. Goals will be created and at the completion of the internships, a stipend will be paid out.

  • Create a unified look and feel that can be leveraged in all digital media assets so they represent the CAIR-MN brand and abide by the CAIR creative guidelines.
