CAIR-Minnesota Condemns Anti-Semitic post by former employee

Minneapolis, MN 4/17/2019

Earlier today, we learned about a hateful anti-Semitic Facebook post made by one of our former employees in 2008, when he was a teenager. We were not aware of this post when we hired the employee, who left our office one year ago. 

As a civil rights organization dedicated to countering all forms of bigotry, we condemn these hateful and hurtful words in the strongest terms possible. We also welcome this young man's decision to publicly renounce and apologize for the bigotry he expressed in his youth.

We understand the pain that such hateful remarks cause to all people, especially the Jewish community. We stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors against hatred, and we move forward today even more committed to fighting anti-Semitism in all of its forms, no matter the source.
