1st Annual CAIR-MN Social Justice Gala a Success!

On Saturday, March 22, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) held its first Social Justice Gala, with the theme "Civil Rights through Creative Expressions." The groundbreaking event brought together local artists and their creative talents to express CAIR-MN's social justice and racial equity work in protecting civil liberties. It featured Brother Ali, a highly respected Hip Hop artist, speaker and activist from Minneapolis.

Artists included spoken word artists, poets, singers, and a beatboxer from the Minnesota Muslim community. The event featured a live artist painting a canvas that was auctioned at the end of the evening. The gala offered a taste of cuisines from around the world, reflecting the diversity within the Minnesota Muslim community. Guests took home keepsake mementos of their names written in Arabic calligraphy by young student calligraphers.
